Dignity Action Day - Brooklands

Brooklands Nursing Home is participating in ‘Dignity Action Day’ – a day that brings staff and members of the public together to make a difference to those receiving care. We will be having coffee, drinking sherry, icing cakes, arranging fresh flowers, listening to music, having hand massages and ending the day off with a Fish and Chip supper eaten out of the paper with our fingers. This will involve residents, staff and relatives. This will be held on Thursday 25th Feb 2010 at Brooklands Nursing Home 28 Leeds Road, Selby. The activity will promote the dignity of those in the care by respecting and treating them as individuals and giving them choice. Dignity Action day gives everyone the opportunity to contribute to upholding people’s rights to dignity and provide a truly memorable day for people receiving care. So if you want to get involved contact Elaine Mawer (Home Manager) on 01757 210221 or if you want to find out more about ‘Dignity Action Day’ and get involved with other activities that are happening around the country go to www.dignityincare.org.uk.
